The Cassville Police Department participated in the "You Drink & Drive, You Lose" crackdown Aug. 29 through Sept. 1.
As a result of this enforcement effort, officers issued a total of seven tickets, including two for driving while intoxicated, three for speeding, one for failing to maintain insurance and one for driving while suspended.
"When we remove a drunk driver from the roads, we're all safer," said Cassville Police Chief Lonnie McCullough. "Law enforcement will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to drive sober."
Funding for this special enforcement effort was provided through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Division in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Missouri Safety Council.
