Gladys M. Curran, 85, of Cassville, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, in her home.

She was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of Elmer and Florence Lawson. On Nov. 17, 1944 in Yuma, Ariz., she was united in marriage to Elijah Curran, who preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include: three sons, Wendell Curran and his wife, Sharon, of Montgomery City, Joe Curran and his wife, Gay'le, of Exeter, and Bill Curran and his wife, Connie, of Cassville; three daughters, Loretta Clark, Rosetta Scott and Marsha Simon, all of Cassville; two brothers, Gene and Ted Lawson; two sisters, Rene Kucera and Marlene Woods; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She attended school in California and graduated from Pacific High School in San Bernardino, Calif. She moved to the Cassville area 40 years ago and worked as a dietitian in the Monett Nursing Home. She was a member of Blessing Heights Worship Center in Cassville.

Funeral services were held Thursday in Blessing Heights Worship Center, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield. Rev. Jack Freeman conducted the services.
