Shakin' in the Shell is packed with fun

The Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce is busy promoting its third annual Shakin' in the Shell Fest, which will be held on Sept. 26 and 27.

"This year's event is jam packed with fun for everyone in the family," said Sheila House, chamber executive director.

Friday night of the festival is "Rock 'n' Roll Night." There will be a carnival, Shriner's beer garden, fish fry by B&J's, pig roast by the Shiners and a free concert featuring popular local talent Rock Pie and FATZ59.

Saturday, Sept. 27 will feature an entire day filled with community activities. Frank Fletcher Toyota Scion will be sponsoring Guitar Hero contests and giving away fantastic prizes throughout the day.

Other Saturday activities include: the All American Carnival; 19th annual Classic Car Show with over 130 entries; a boats and sports vehicles show; food fair; beer garden with entertainment; Celebrity Chef Cook-Off, the always popular Ugly Dog Contest; Port-A-Potty decorating contest; and tricycle contest and races.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Shell Knob chamber will sponsor another free concert featuring nationally recognized country music artist Rich McCready, amazing song writer and performer John DeHoyos and local talent Paul Rawlings and Tonya Davison.
