Thursday, August 21, 2008

The 57th annual Crane Broiler Festival will be held Aug. 20 through Aug. 23, 2008 in Crane City Park. Traditionally more than 30,000 people visit the festival over the four days, making it one of the best-loved annual events in the area.

The Broiler Festival's musical line-up has been expanded tremendously, and will include: Nocturnal Nation at 8 p.m. on Aug. 21; Cory Cope Band at 8 p.m. on Aug. 22; and Jan and Cale Reavis and band at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 23.

Armband nights will be offered on Aug. 20 and 21. Patrons can purchase an armband for $15 each night and ride all designated carnival rides from 6 to 10 p.m.

The festival also features gospel music, a craft fair, exhibition booths, bingo, a horseshow tournament and barbecued chicken.

On Friday, Aug. 22 the Broiler Festival will feature the annual Miss Chick Pageants in five age divisions starting at 6 p.m. at the Crane Christian Community Center.

The Broiler Festival parade will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23 beginning at 10 a.m. The theme for this year's parade is "America, Let's Celebrate."
