Frank Dell, 84, of Cassville, left his earthly life to be with his Lord on Friday, August 15, 2008.
Mr. Dell, son of Charlie and Goldie (Gautney) Dell, was born on September 4, 1923, in Mano, Missouri. After graduating high school Frank enlisted into the United States Army. During his service time, he participated in action as a tank driver in Italy and Africa. After returning from the service, he met the love of his life, Dorothy Vanderpool, in Eagle Rock, Missouri. They were united in marriage on December 30, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas. She survives. They moved to California where Frank attended school at night and worked during the day as a construction building superintendent for LE Mount Construction in California. In 1969 he and Dorothy moved back to Cassville to make their home. They owned and operated Dell's Café for 12 years. During this time Frank continued to work his hobby as a builder of many homes and apartment complexes and was one of the first developers in the Barry County area. Some of his accomplishments include the Southwest Baptist University Library in Bolivar, Missouri. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville and a member of the Union Carpenters of California.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Dell, of Cassville, Missouri; three daughters, Patricia Ann Ray, and her husband, Dennis, of St. Joseph, Missouri, Marilyn Louise Moore, of Cassville, Missouri, and Melissa Gay Mitchell, and her husband, Clifton, of Eagle Rock, Missouri; two brothers, Levoy Dell, of Kingsbury, Texas, and Lonnie Dell of Royce City, Texas; one sister, Louise Kanuk, of San Jose, California; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Pallbearers will include, Jeremy Moore, Michael Moore, Andy Harmon, Dave Reid, Mike Shaffer, and Jim Dunivant.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri, with Brother Danny Heupel officiating. The family received friends on Monday, August 18, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, one of Frank's favorite organizations, and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.
