The Cassville High School FFA Chapter has scheduled several fall events that will give students an opportunity to get involved in the organization and further their agriculture education.
On Aug. 14, agriculture science students and their parents are invited to visit the agriculture department during Cassville High School's freshmen orientation event. FFA chapter and booster club members will be serving a meal of hotdogs, chips and soda.
All current FFA members and their parents are also invited to participate in the event.
On Aug. 26, FFA members will begin planning their 2009 Washington Leadership Conference trip. The planning session will be held in agriculture room 504 at the high school at 5:30 p.m.
All FFA members who plan to participate in the trip should attend the meeting to discuss fundraising and sponsorship ideas. Registration for the 2009 trip will be around $700 without financial support. Parents and potential student sponsors are also invited to attend the planning session.
This year, the Cassville High School agriculture department will offer 10 free classes for individuals interested in furthering their agriculture education. The classes will begin on Sept. 8.
Agriculture education classes will be held at 7 p.m. each Monday through Nov. 10. Classes will feature a variety of topics concerning agriculture in the local area.
The Cassville High School food science class will serve a simple meal prior to each of the Monday night classes. Food will be served at 6 p.m. Individuals are asked to notify Charli Jo Epperly, Cassville High School agriculture teacher, if they plan to attend the meal.
For more information, or to register for one of the agriculture classes, call Epperly at 846-6917 or e-mail her at email@example.com.
