Exeter teen killed in crash on Highway M
An Exeter teen was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Highway M two miles north of Big M Marina last Tuesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when Dylan M. Metscher Ray, 16, who was driving a 1988 Nissan, lost control, skidded off the right side of the roadway, struck a rock bluff and overturned. He was ejected from the vehicle.
Ray was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Skip White. The body was taken to White Funeral Home in Cassville.
The Patrol report indicated that Ray was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred at 9:05 p.m.
Other traffic crashes
* Last Thursday, a Buffalo teen sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 86 three miles west of Golden. The crash occurred as a 1986 Chevrolet, driven by Lawrence Williams, 19, stopped abruptly and was struck in the rear by a 2001 Dodge, driven by Michael Farmer, 24, of Huntsville, Ark. Williams was taken to Eureka Springs Hospital in Eureka Springs, Ark. Farmer was not injured in the crash, which occurred at 3:55 p.m.
* An Ohio man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Highway DD in Seligman on Monday. The crash occurred as a 2005 Kenworth, driven by Ian Tipton, 24, of Pomeroy, Ohio, traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Tipton's passenger, Jerry Holley, 47, of Pomeroy, Ohio, was taken by ambulance to St. John's Hospital-Cassville. Tipton was not injured in the crash, which occurred at 5:45 a.m.
