Summer vacation is almost over, and fall athletic practices are set to begin. Listed below is practice information about all of Cassville's five fall sports, which were submitted this week by the coaches.
Cross country practice will begin Monday, Aug. 11. Runners should meet at the Cassville Middle School gymnasium at 7 a.m. Runners should bring their completed physical forms and running shoes. Practice will run from 7 to 8 a.m. each morning, according to Coach Chris Shore.
The Wildcat football team will begin practice on Monday, Aug. 11. Head Coach David Large said all CHS football players should meet at 7 a.m. and have a completed physical.
The Cassville soccer team will begin practice at 8 a.m. on Aug. 11. Players should meet at the front doors of the high school. Anyone interested in playing is encouraged to come even if they did not attend camp over the summer. Players should come with a physical, running shoes and soccer cleats.
Soccer players will need to report for practice at 8 a.m. each day from Monday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 14. On Friday, Aug. 15, there will be a mandatory soccer lock-in at the Family Life Center beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 7 to 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16.
The Ladycats softball team will begin practice on Aug. 11. Practices will be held daily at 3:30 p.m. Any student planning to try out for the team must be in attendance. All athletes must have an updated physical on file at the high school office prior to the first day of practice. For more information, call Coach Ben Abramovitz at 847-1431.
Ladycat volleyball practice will begin Monday, Aug. 11 at 7:30 a.m. Players should meet at the CHS track with their running shoes and completed physical forms. According to Coach Mandy Henry, practice will run until noon. For more information, call 847-3137.
