Elizabeth Mae "Bettye" Johnson, 78, of Eagle Rock, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, in Condordia Care Center, Bella Vista, Ark.

She was born April 18, 1930, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Harvey) Rausch. She was united in marriage Sept. 22, 1961, in Denver, Colo., to Wayne Johnson, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Danielle.

Survivors include: one son, David Johnson, of Eagle Rock; one daughter, Diane Rupp, of Willow Spring, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

She received her education in St. Paul, Minn., and continued on at Hamline University in St. Paul, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. In 1967, she and Wayne moved to Monett and on to Eagle Rock in 1984. She was a homemaker, field director for Campfire Girls of America and worked at the Barry County assessor's office.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12 in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Larry Henbest will conduct the services. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
