Vesta Marie Yocom, 63, of Colcord, Okla., formerly of Cassville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, in St. Frances Hospital, Tulsa, Okla.
She was born Aug. 19, 1944, in McFarland, Calif., the daughter of Vesta (Nickols) Collins. On April 26, 1978, she was united in marriage to Wilbert Yocom, who survives.
Additional survivors include: four sons, Stephen Crum, of Cassville, Mark Crum and Eric Crum, both of Bakersfield, Calif., and Kevin Yocom, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three daughters, Phyllis Yates, of Colcord, Okla., Yolanda Powers, of Ada, Okla. and Cristy Yokom, of McFarland, Calif.; one brother, Jimmy Nickols, of Delano, Calif.; two sisters, Hazel Prichard, of Bakersfield, Calif., and Patsy McConall, of Mena, Ark.; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Brandy Jacobs; and two brothers.
She received her education in McFarland, Calif., where she graduated from high school. She resided in Cassville several years until two years ago when she moved to Colcord, Okla., to make her home.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Cassville, for many years. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Robert Day will conduct the services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville. A potluck dinner will be served at First Assembly of God Church after the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
