Cassville High School has released back-to-school information for the 2008-09 school year.
Freshmen and new student orientation will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14 at the high school. Students who pre-registered for classes may pick up their schedules during orientation.
New high school students also have the opportunity to participate in student-led Freshmen Orientation Day Camps, which will be offered from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13 and Thursday, Aug. 14.
Participation in these camps is voluntary but recommended. Students can pick one of these two dates to attend. To enroll, call 847-4015 by Friday, Aug. 8.
Incoming sophomore, juniors or seniors who pre-registered for classes in the spring may pick up their class schedules at the following times: seniors, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 9 to 11:30 p.m.; juniors, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1 to 3:30 p.m.; and sophomores, Wednesday, Aug. 13, 9 to 11:30 a.m. Students may also get locker assignments at that time. Individuals will not be allowed to pick up schedules for someone else without their written permission.
Students who will be new to CHS in the fall may register at the high school on Wednesday, Aug. 6 and Thursday, Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
In order to register, a student must present the following information: birth certificate; Social Security card; immunization record; proof of residency; and copies of any documents regarding legal guardianship/parental rights. Proof of residency can include a utility deposit, property tax statement, current loan agreement, rent receipt, legal property description of telephone bill.
