Dwain Leo Raucstadt, 86, of Seligman, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.
He was born on March 6, 1922, in Hibbing, Minn., son of Emil and Claire (Cramer) Raucstadt. He was a veteran of World War II. He served as a Coxswain in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941 to 1945, in Alaska and the South Pacific. He married Rita Mary Bialke on Sept. 28, 1954. she survives. He moved from a farm in Minnesota to the farm in Seligman in 1969.
Additional survivors include: four sons, Don Raucstadt, and his wife, Susan, of Seligman, John (JR) Raucstadt, of Seligman, Mark Raucstadt of Bentonville, Ark., and Dean Raucstadt, and his wife, Deena, of League City, Texas; four daughters, Kay Nix, and her husband, Jim, of Milner, Ga., Jean Raucstadt, and her husband, Joe Farkas, of Seligman, Ann Wells, and her husband, Dean, of Grand Island, Neb., and Lisa Norris, and her husband, Larry, of Seligman; two brothers, Daniel and Warren Raustadt, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Phillys DeFer, of Rodeo, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant children, David and Dorothy, and two sisters, Fritzi Johnson and Mary Jo Eerdman.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home of Cassville. A private service for family will held on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, with internment on the cemetery located on the family farm.
