Aldelbert Glenn Richter, 74, of Wheaton, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Springfield.

He was born, Aug, 5, 1933, in Exeter to the late Elby and Glenn Arthelda (Lakey) Richter. He graduated from Wheaton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired electronics engineer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Elby Adolpha Richter.

Survivors include: five sons, Damian Ford, of Mt. Vernon, Stephen Richter, of Monett, Daniel Ford and wife, Joy, of Exeter, Bruce Richter, of Russellville, Ark., and Peter Richter, of Modesto, Calif.; eight daughters, Darlene Dodd, of Katy, Texas, Pam Tennyson, of Monett, Carol Bland, of Verona, Sandy Richter, of Exeter, Desiree Ford, of Exeter, Arthelda Richter, of Katy, Texas, Catherine Richter, of Russellville, Ark., and Michelle Thomas and husband, Mike, of Exeter; one brother, Frank Richter, of Exeter; four sisters, Ila Hazelrigg, of Independence, Willa Dean Trenary, of Stark City, Emma Hicks, of Marionville, and Janice Malicoat, of Exeter; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grand children.

Services were at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Wheaton Funeral Home, with Rev. John Hicks officiating. Burial followed at Concord Cemetery, Ridgley.
