Laurance H. Speer, 80, of Seligman, died Monday, June 30, 2007, at Pea Ridge, Ark.
He was born March 23, 1928, at Del Rio, Texas, to William Marion Speer and Laura Gertrude Keller Speer. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Sill, Okla. He married Daisy Martin on June 1, 1954. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Del Rio, Texas, until his retirement. He was a member of the Christian Science Mother Church in Boston, Mass., and attended First Church of Christ Scientist in Del Rio, Texas, and Rogers, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy, an infant brother, and brothers, Ralph Speer, Elmer Speer and Franklin Speer.
Survivors include: one son, Martin Speer and his wife, Linda, of Ft. Collins, Colo.; three daughters, Laura Cochran and her husband, David, of Belle, Donna Speer, of Pea Ridge, Ark., Judy Bachler and her husband, David, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; two brothers, William Speer and his wife, Doris, of Seattle, Wash., and Donald Speer and his wife, Darlene, of Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark. A memorial service was held today (Wednesday) at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel with Reader Sharon Jeffrey officiating.
