Sprint triathlon to be held July 12

Cassville YMCA will hold its annual "Y" Not "Tri" sprint triathlon on Saturday, July 12. The sporting event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Cassville Family Aquatic Park.

A sprint triathlon consists of a 400-yard swim, a 15-mile bike ride and a three-mile run. People can enter as teams or individuals.

Medals will be awarded to the top three in each of the following divisions: male 15-29; female 15-29; male 30-49; female 30-49; male 50 plus; female 50 plus; and team.

Free T-shirts will be given to the first 25 individual entries and the first six team entries. Prize drawings will be held following the race.

The cost to enter is $15 for individuals and $30 for teams. After July 7, $5 will be added to the registration fee. Entry forms are available at the Cassville and Monett YMCAs or by calling 417-235-8213.
