Henry "Heno" Head, 86, of Monett, passed away July 1, 2008, at his home.
He was born March 3, 1922, in Sherman, Texas, the son of Hayden and Ruth "Bullock" Head. He was the former owner of Camp Soaring Hawk. He had a life-long love of God and his fellow man. He particularly enjoyed his ministry to the many young people who came to Camp Soaring Hawk.
He married Jane Weilenmun on April 14, 1944, in Stoneville, Miss., and she survives.
Additional survivors include: three sons, Heno Head Jr., of Monett, Victor Head and his wife, Becky, of Monett, and Hayden Head and his wife, Sue, of Branson; six grandchildren, Natalie and Janie Head, of Monett, Jennifer Head Steingraber and husband, Jason, of Springfield, Nathan Head and his wife, Julie, of St. Louis, and Heno Head II and Lanie of Branson; and three great-grandchildren, Emma and Kate Steingraber, and Sarah Beth Head.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Hayden Head; and two sisters, Cary Head and Mary Sawrie.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Monett with Rev. Clif Crockett and Rev. Terry LaSalle officiating.
Music included soloist Mike Garrett who sang "Amazing grace," soloist Tracy Waters who sang "I Can only Imagine," singers, Emily dunbar, Timothy Broyles, John Von Der Brugge, and Holly Broyles who sang "I am Revived," and Julie Lee and Rhonda Pachner who sang "When The Saints Go Marching In."
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice or the First United Methodist Church building fund.
