The son of a Cassville High School graduate is taking advantage of a stellar high school hockey career by playing for the University of North Dakota, a Division 1 program.

Corey Fienhage, son of Billie Shore Fienhage and grandson of Don and Judy Shore, of Shell Knob, recently finished up his high school career as a member of the Eastview High School hockey team, which made it to the state semifinals in February.

Fienhage was a top 10 finalist for Minnesota's Mr. Hockey. During his senior year, Fienhage tallied 6 goals and 14 assists even though he specializes in defense.

After his high school season ended, Fienhage went to play for the USHL Indiana Ice hockey team. Currently, he is ranked as the 61st North American skater in the National Hockey League's midterm rankings for the 2008 NHL draft. This ranking places him among the top five Minnesota high school hockey players.
