Cassville Democrat: High School Sports: First-ever chamber golf tourney was a success (06/05/08)

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce held its first annual golf tournament on May 30 at the Cassville Golf Course. Tournament organizers said the event was a huge success and there are plans to hold the event again next spring.

The Willis Insurance team of John Urban, Fred Wood, Marlee Edie and Dan Bailey were first place winners in the top flight. Second place honors went to the team of Dave Graham, Butch Watson, Tim Ludwig and Randy Bemiss, and third place was captured by the Regal Beliot team of Mike Atwood, John Baughn, Dennis Ledgerwood and Bob Garrison.

Second flight winners were as follows: first place, Barry County Ready-Mix Team of Brian Stehlik, Mike Riehn, Rusty Stone and Chris House; second place, Thorco Industries/K&S Wire team of Jeff Gardner, Jim Pawlus, Brian Gerbitz and Rick Sewell; and third place, Edward Jones team of Shane Boyd, Stan Boyd, Jack Cargile and Sherman Gabbard.

Closest to the pin winners were: #6, Tom Gripka; #8, Chris Sparks; #11, Les Lyons; and #17, Fred Wood. Ryan Stockton won longest drive on #2, and Jeannie Shoup won crazy line on #13.
