"Donnie" Ray Scroggins, 43, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at his home in Golden.
He was born on Sept. 20, 1964, in Eureka Springs, Ark., son of Donnie and Edith (Sherman) Scroggins. He was employed in sales for Shumaker Battery Outfitters for 20 years and a member of the Golden Circle Shores. He became a Christian and was baptized at the age of 12 and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Golden.
He was united in marriage to Oleta "Tootsie" Burrington on July 31, 1987, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Golden. She survives.
Additional survivors include: his parents; two sons, Devan Ray Scroggins and Dillon Reece Scroggins, both of the home; one brother, Daniel Lee Scroggins, and his wife, Rebecca, of Berryville, Ark.; his grandmother, Lucille Scroggins, of Beaver, Ark.; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lee and Sheldon Knuth, of Golden. He was preceded in death by two grandmothers and two grandfathers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church in Golden, with Rev. Woodrow E. Fletcher and Rev. Freddy Blevins officiating. Burial will be at the Roach Cemetery, Eagle Rock. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville. Memorials may be made to his sons and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
