CHS Young Democrats visit Clinton Library

Thursday, May 22, 2008

On April 9, the Cassville High School Young Democrats Club visited the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum in Little Rock, Ark.

"My favorite part of the library was finding out that the building itself was built to resemble a bridge moving into the 21st Century," said senior Alli Cannon. "Every person is able to walk across and see nature's beauty."

The three-story building was built on large pillars, which allow the building to sit over the Arkansas River.

"I really enjoyed looking at the replica of the White House," said sophomore Natalie Cline. "Every little detail was exactly how it was when President Clinton was in office. It was amazing looking at all the historical documents and seeing history right in front of you."

Young Democrats Club member Megan Hopper enjoyed looking at the ball gowns that were worn by First Lady Hillary Clinton.

"We had a good, educational time," said club sponsor Bonnie Cox. "The day was filled with a lot of fun and exciting facts."
