Wildcat golfer Taylor Vanzandt had another fantastic showing at the Class 3 state golf tournament for a second year in a row.
The junior finished 19th in the state out of 128 golfers who were competing at the Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield. He shot an 82 the first day and a 76 on the second for a combined score of 158 on the par-72 course.
"Taylor played as well at the state tournament as I saw him play all year," said CHS Coach Lance Parnell. "The course played very tough both days."
The state champion in Class 3 was Kevin Bell, a sophomore from Westminister Christian Academy. He shot a five-over-par 149.
"Taylor has finished in the top 20 at state the last two years," Coach Parnell added.
In 2007, Vanzandt finished 16th in the state with a two-day score of 151.
Vanzandt is the son of LaDon and Danny Vanzandt, of Cassville.
