Wayne Wormington, 74, of Cassville, passed away Monday, May 12, 2008, at his home.

He was born July 28, 1933, in Purdy, the son of Clyde and Julia (Stone) Wormington, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three daughters; two brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include: a son, Michael Wayne Wormington and his wife, Lorey, of Monett; four daughters, Deborah C. Wormington and Cathy Jo Lowe, and her husband, Billy Rouse, all of Cassville, Sandra J. Von Lienen and her husband, Dale, of Mapleton, Ill., and Whitney M. Wormington, of Joplin; a sister, Alice Rush and her husband, Jay, of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great- grandchildren.

He received his education in Purdy, and was a lifelong resident of the Purdy and Cassville areas. His life was spent dairy farming, excavating and as an owner/operator in the trucking industry.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Purdy Cemetery, Purdy, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jack Freeman will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
