Top graduates named at SW and Wheaton

Southwest High School and Wheaton High School have released the names of their top seniors. The schools will celebrate graduation ceremonies this week and next week.

Southwest High School named Kristina Outhouse, daughter of Alice and Kevin Outhouse, of Seligman, as valedictorian. Summer Step-hens, daughter of Bobby and Sherry Stephens, of Seligman, has been named salutatorian.

Jamie Stover, son of Dale and Debbie Stover, of Seligman, Savannah Vinson, step-daughter of Vern Scannell and daughter of Margaret Scannell, of Seligman, Willa Fry, daughter of Wallace and Verna Fry, of Washburn, Amber Shockley, daughter of Michael and Susie Shockley, of Washburn, Rusty Johnson, son of Shelly Johnson, of Washburn, Tara Ford, daughter of Gerald Ford and Sharon Fielding, of Washburn, Jamie (Tate) Robinson, daughter of Johnny and Kristy Tate of Seligman, and Jeremy Hayworth, son of Ray and Sandy Hayworth, of Washburn, complete the Class of 2008's top 10.

Other members of the senior class are: Paul Antony, Jerrek Bowman, Kelley Brooke, Jessica Bryant, Charlotte Buttrum, Nathan Butts, Nathan Carter, Brittany Clifton, Traisha Conner, Kristy Cruse, Jennifer Doke, Jeana Dover, Darrell Eagan, Steffani Edie, Samantha Elkins, Sabrina Ellis, Jessica Ford, Kevin Greeno, Quinten Grubbs, Codie Harmon, James Hayworth, Meagan Hendrix, Tim LeCompte, Dustin Logan, Vice McCurdy, Christina McNitt, Jessica Mitchell, Savanna Moore, Dale Moose, Kelli Parker, Tyler Paul, Logan Pendergraft, Kayla Petty, Lindi Phillips, Zachary Porter, Philip Prim, Cortney Roller, Ethan Roller, Monique Skidmore, Janet Smith-Jorden, Bo Stephens, Jimmie Stover, Duane Tate, Travis Tripodi, Gary Varner, Amanda Vaughn, Ger Vue, Emily Wolf, Kadue Yang, Billye Yell and Nicole Young.

Ken West will speak at baccalaureate ceremonies on May 18. Commencement ceremonies, which will be held on May 23, will feature the valedictorian and salutatorian addresses. Both ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. in the Southwest High School gymnasium.

Wheaton High School named Dalton Brown, son of Bobby and Kelli Brown, of Exeter, as valedictorian. See Yang, daughter of Toua and Chao Yang, of Rocky Comfort, is salutatorian.

Students rounding out Wheaton's top 10 are: Sean Crane, son of Darrell and Rhonda Crane, of Stark City; Stacia Holmes, daughter of Doug and Tammy Holmes, of Wheaton; Mai Kao Lee, daughter of Kaying and Xee Vang Lee, of Fairview; Megan Littlefield, daughter of Lincoln and Gina Littlefield, of Exeter; Kendra Parsons, daughter of Mike and Garla Parsons, of Exeter; Cindy and Wendy Pointer, daughters of Robert and Esther Pointer, of Exeter; and Caitlin Waddle, daughter of Deanna and David Foster, of Purdy, and John and Sarah Waddle, of Springfield.

Other members of the graduating class are: Danielle Mills, Colton Pointer, Derek Parsons, Jon Caudron, Jon Pendergraft, Tyler Brattin, Jesus Hernandez, Linda Xiong, Jennifer Oxford, Pasee Vang, Juan Nunez, Jay Chang, Pa Houa Vang, Sai Lor, Jeanny Vang, TJ McCracken, Ashley Adams, Luis Gomez, Bao Hang, Derek Blair. Lana Berger, a foreign exchange student from Germany, will receive a certificate of completion.

Donnie Spears will give the address at baccalaureate today (Wednesday, May 14). Eric Roller, Wheaton agriculture teacher and FFA sponsor, will be the guest speaker at the commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 15. Both ceremonies will begin at 8 p.m.
