Jessie F. Stephens, 76, of Cassville, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at St. John's Hospital in Cassville.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1931, in Green Forest, Ark., daughter of Elmer and Flora (Werdeman) Smith. She and her family moved to Cassville where she was a graduate of Cassville High School class of 1949.
She met Horace "Steve" Stephens in Kansas City, and they were married on June 30, 1956, in Exeter. She was a military wife and a homemaker, raising their three children. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville.
Survivors include: her husband, Horace "Steve" Stephens, of Cassville; two sons, Earl Stephens, of Joplin, and Kenneth Stephens, and his wife, Kelli, of Monett; one daughter, Doris Stephens, of Cassville; one sister, Crystal Dale, and her husband, Bud, of Marionville; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Folsom and Grace Laney.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, with Rev. James Stewart and Rev. Danny Heupel officiating. Burial was at the Horner Cemetery, Cassville.
Arrangements were under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
