Thelma Marie Shelley, 75, of Exeter, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

She was born April 23, 1932, in Barry County, the daughter of E.H. "Bud" and Thelma (Chappell) Beck. On Oct. 8, 1950, she was united in marriage to George W. Shelley, who preceded her in death on April 9, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Georgia Jonson, Hazel Miller, Norma Loveland and Ada Gaddy and two brothers, Bennett and Ray Beck.

Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia Shelley Lyons and her husband, Larry, of Exeter; three sisters, Naomi Patrick, of Rocky Ford, Colo., Wilma Harrison, of Mulberry, Ark., and Shirley Todd, of Bentonville, Ark.; two brothers, Glen Lyle Beck, of Powell, and Maurice Beck, of Cassville; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

She received her education at Cassville, where she graduated from high school. For 21 years she was employed at Fasco in Cassville. She was a cook for various restaurants and for many years cooked at Roaring River. She also had owned and operated a café at Exeter for a time and had worked for John Hancock. She was currently helping at the Exeter Café. She was a member of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Larry Henbest conducted the servies. Burial was at Horner Cemetery, Cassville.
