Willena Emma Rickman Philibert, 85, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, Feb. 29, 2008.

She was born on Oct. 28, 1922, in Verona, to William David Rickman and Blanche Myrtle Madole. She graduated from Verona High School in 1940.

She married Robert L. Philibert, Sr. on Dec. 6, 1942, in San Diego, Calif. She obtained a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She was a teacher of home economics. Her longest tenure was at Parkview High School in Springfield, where she taught for 18 years. She retired from the Springfield Public Schools in 1982. In 1986, she and Robert moved to Shell Knob. She was a member of the Dogwood Trails Garden Club, and a member and Sunday school teacher at Central Community United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: her husband of over 65 years, Dr. Robert L. Philibert, Sr., of Shell Knob; one son, Robert Philibert, Jr., and wife, Beki, of Springfield; two daughters, Suzanne Stringer, and husband, Kent, of Republic, and Dr. Nanette Philibert, of Shell Knob; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren;

She was preceded in death by her parents, William David and Blanche Rickman; her brothers, Lyle and Robert Rickman; her sister Helen Rickman Ledbetter; and one grandson.

Services were held Tuesday at Central Com-munity United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.
