Florence Marie "Hart" Lettington, 82, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, in her home.

She was born July 19, 1925, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Fred Edward and Lillian (Kahkonen) Deemer. She was united in marriage to Warner Hart, and to this union six children were born. After Warner's death she was married on May 11, 1991, in Lapeer, Mich., to Harold Lettington, who survives.

Additional survivors include: four sons, Duane Hart, and his wife, Janus, of Bullhead City, Ariz., Dennis Hart, and his wife, Lana of Columbiaville, Mich., Brian Hart, of Clinton, Mich., and Harold Lettington, and his wife, Barbara, of Wappapello; three daughters, Norma Roach, of Columbiaville, Mich., Marlene Wheeler, and her husband, Curtis, of Lapeer, Mich., and Marsha Oliver, and her husband, Kevin, of Columbiaville, Mich.; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great- grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in Detroit, Mich. where she graduated from Pershing High School. She was a caregiver for developmentally disabled children for many years. She retired from Oakdale Center and Lapeer Hospital but continued to work at St. John's in Berryville, Ark., and for Country Fresh Market after moving to Shell Knob. Her body was cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. No services are planned at this time.
