Bruce E. Russell, 73, of Eagle Rock, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, in Skaggs Community Health Center, Branson.
He was born May 20, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Albert Clifford and Loretta Joan (Britezke) Russell. On April 29, 1984, he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Redden, who survives. They had been together since 1974. Additional survivors include: three sons, Jon Russell, of Springdale, Ark., Mike Bruxvoort, of Eagle Rock, and Doug Bruxvoort, of Fairland, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He received his education in Whiting, Ind., and recently attended his 55th class reunion there. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958. After his discharge from the service he was an air traffic controller at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. They later owned and operated the Red Barn Supper Club in Ames, Iowa, then Parkside Café in Eureka Springs, Ark., and Shoreline Restaurant in Eagle Rock. He was also a merchandiser for Lowes and Home Depot.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, at Table Rock Corps of Engineers Campground, Eagle Rock. Rev. Don Calhoun will conduct the service.
His body was cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
