Boys action

• Eagles rebound against Trojans. The Purdy Eagles rallied after one quarter of play to beat the Southwest Trojans this week. After falling behind 14-11, Purdy regained the lead in the second quarter and never yielded, winning 51-44. Blake Williams led scoring with 20 points. Mason Roller also added 16 for the Eagles. Levi Roberts led Southwest with 16. Purdy also beat McAuley in an Ozark 7 Conference game this week. Up by only 7 after three quarters of play, the Eagles were able to hold on for a 58-54 victory.

• Trojans earn Ozark 7 win. Southwest picked up a conference win this week against McAuley. The Trojans got out to a 13-8 lead and never gave it up winning 74-69. Caleb Mitchell led Southwest with 23 points and eight rebounds. Levi Roberts (18), Josh Hartin (13) and Codie Harmon (10) also scored in double digits for the squad.

• Bulldogs slow start, costs them against Verona. Wheaton couldn't complete a comeback after falling behind to Verona 12-2. The Bulldogs got within 8, but never could get a leg up on the Wildcats. Jon Pendergraft led Wheaton with 16 points.

• Exeter falls to the Wildcats. The Verona Wildcats were just too much for Exeter this week. The Tigers fell behind 25-7 at half-time and couldn't make up the difference falling 25-57.

Girls action

• Lady Eagles take down Southwest in triple overtime. It took three overtime sessions to decide the contest between the Southwest Lady Trojans and the Purdy Lady Eagles. After battling to a 54-54 tie at the end of regulation, the two teams matched each other through the first two overtimes. Finally in the third, Purdy outscored Southwest 12-3 to win 80-71. Avery Roller led scoring with 26 points. Shelby White and Audrey Patton scored 25 and 22 respectively. Chelsea Sneed led Southwest with 19. Purdy also got two other victories this week, 54-48 over McAuley and 54-46 over Billings. White had 22 points in the McAuley contest and both White and Roller had 15 against Billings.

• Exeter rolls over Thomas Jefferson. The Exeter Lady Tigers had no trouble with the Thomas Jefferson Lady Patriots, rolling to a 58-32 victory. Exeter decided the game in the second quarter where they outscored Thomas Jefferson 22-2.

• Wheaton edges Verona. The Wheaton girls picked up an important 37-34 Ozark 7 victory this week over rival Verona. After being tied at half-time at 14-14, Wheaton took a slight lead and then expanded it in the fourth quarter. Megan Brattin led Wheaton with 10 points.
