Dana L. Staker, 89, of Seligman, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at St. John's Hospital, Cassville, following a brief illness.

He was born on Sept. 26, 1918, in Groveland, Ill., the son of Ruben and Cora (Zimmerman) Staker. He worked as a machinist for Caterpillar in Peoria, Ill., for over 30 years. After retiring in 1975 he and his wife moved to Seligman, Missouri. He was a HAM Radio operator, license # KBOTNN, and was a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist. He married Pauline Goodfriend on Jan. 20, 1946, in Peoria, Ill., and she survives.

Additional survivors include: two daughters, Betty Jones and Donna Staker, both of Peoria, Ill.; and two sisters, Mary Bowers and Evelyn Club, both of Peoria, Ill., In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Koufman.

Funeral services were held Monday at White Funeral Home in Cassville with Dorothy McGrew Hood C.S. officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of White Funeral Home in Cassville.
