Marlin James Mickle, 64, of Monett, formerly of Verona, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, in Monett Health Care Center.

He was born June 3, 1943, in Elk River, Minn., the son of James Spencer and Bernice Alice (Rechenberg) Mickle. His father preceded him in death.

Survivors include: a daughter, Sherry Marie Rittmiller; three stepdaughters, Cassie Luna, Jennie Schmitt and Carrie Craig; two stepsons, Ross Steelman and Billy Craig; his mother, Bernice Mickle; a sister, Vernetta Dummann, and her husband, Marlo; and two grandchildren.

He grew up in Minnesota, moved to Colorado and 28 years ago moved to Southwest Missouri. He kept detailed records on the hummingbirds that came to his home -- sometimes all 24 "stations" were occupied. He also did modifying and working on automobiles along with his jobs at College Street Auto Body and R & R New Parts & Salvage. His last employment was a machinist for Miracle Recreation.

His body was cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. No services are planned at this time.
