Blum "Jack" Eugene Norman, 85, passed away on Jan. 31, 2008, at the Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore, Okla. He was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Washburn, to William Monroe and Mae Turner Norman.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1944 to 1947. During this time he was a rifleman, MP, and POW.
He was a mason and worked as draftsman, roughneck, and oil well specialist. He retired from the Texas Highway Department in 1979, worked for Brown Oil Tools until 1984, then retired again from the City of Moore, Okla., in 1989.
Survivors include: his wife, Wendolyn, of the home; one daughter, Patricia Ann Rose; four sons, Robert Eugene Norman and Wendel Monroe Norman, both of Healdton, Okla., Ronald Travis Norman, of Haltom City, Texas, and Doyce Leon Norman, of Healdton, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, eleven brothers and sisters, one granddaughter.
Funeral services were Sunday with Chad Barron officiating. Burial was at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Healdton under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton.
