Girls Action

• Lady Trojans drop Diamond. The Lady Trojans of Southwest defeated Diamond 45-33 last Monday night. Jessica Mitchell had 18 points for Southwest and Chelsea Sneed contributed 12 points.

• Exeter ladies hand Wheaton a loss. The Exeter Lady Tigers earned another Ozark 7 victory by defeating Wheaton 58-36 last Friday. Whitney Edie had a game-leading 26 points and Heather Goostree paced the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points.

Boys action

• Southwest wins one, loses one. The Trojans earned an impressive 67-37 victory over Sarcoxie on Jan. 24. Caleb Mitchell and Levi Roberts poured in the points for Southwest with 21 and 20 points respectively. Josh Hartin also scored in double-digits with 10 points. Southwest stumbled against Seneca, falling to the Big 8 team 50-70.

• Purdy downs Exeter. The Purdy Eagles capitalized on a 37-25 half-time lead to defeat the Exeter Tigers 76-52 and pick up another Ozark 7 win on Jan. 21. Purdy was led by Mason Roller with 23 points. Other Eagles scoring in double digits were Blake Williams with 17 and Ryan Veith with 14.

• Blue Eye trips up Exeter. The Tigers were no match for Blue Eye and fell 27-63. Exeter scorers were: Tyler Henderson 10, Ryan Odenbrett 6, Zachary Wubker 5, Chase Higgs 4 and Justin Brattin 2.

• Wheaton competes in Crane tourney. The Bulldogs earned one win and suffered two losses in last week's Crane Tournament. In the first game, Wheaton fell to Marionville 38-52 and then came back to defeat Verona 33-26 in game two. In their final match up, the Bulldogs lost to Billings 36-52. Tournament scoring totals for Wheaton were as follows: Jon Pendergraft 43, Sean Crane 32, Donovan Bartkoski 18, Derek Parsons 8, Dalton Brown 4 and James Musick 2.
