Clay Sanvern McCullough, 83, a resident of Shell Knob, was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Viola, a son of William Turner and Allie (Meadows) McCullough. He passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, in Berryville, Ark.

He was a veteran, having served our country in the Army during WWII. He was a dairy farmer. He also raised wild turkeys for the Missouri Conservation Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On Dec.6, 1946, he was united in marriage with Fern (Moore) McCullough, who survives him of the home.

Additional survivors include: three sons; Alan McCullough and wife LaDenna, of Berryville, Ark., Lloyd McCullough and wife Debra, Irvin McCullough and wife Connie, all of Viola; one daughter, Laveta and husband James Sherwood, of Viola; one brother; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Viola Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Renfrow officiating. Interment will follow at McCullough Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc., of Berryville, Ark.
