Lorraine Buente Alred, 97, of Shell Knob, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Table Rock Health Care Center in Kimberling City.
She was born on March 23, 1910, in Linn, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Mason) Branson. She married Carl Buente on April 27, 1930. He preceded her in death in 1975. On Nov. 28, 1976, she married Edwin Alred in Kirkwood. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1994. She retired from Sears Roebuck and Company, in St. Louis, after 35 years of employment and moved to Shell Knob in November of 1976. She had been a resident of the Table Rock Health Care Center since September of 2003.
Survivors include: one stepson, Robert Alred, and his wife, Martha, of Shell Knob; one brother, Ralph Branson, of Shell Knob; and eight step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Branson; and two sisters, Alta Blebsoe and Ruth Gearing.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob, with Dr. Jim Forkner officiating. Burial was at the Rolla Cemetery in Rolla with words of comfort spoken by her nephew Grant Branson.
Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
