Gary D. Gordon, 67, of Shell Knob, formerly of Wichita, Kan., passed away at St. John's Hospital in Berryville, Ark., on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, after a two-year battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Salina, Kan., June 15, 1940, the son of Robert Burns and Velma (Hosie) Gordon. In Las Vegas, Nev., on July 3, 1974, he was united in marriage to Karen Lynn Stocksen.

He grew up and received his education in Salina Public Schools. Following high school, he attended Wichita State where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. He served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965. He was a former CPA and partner with F.B. Kubik and Company in Wichita, Kan., for many years. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Karen, of Shell Knob; two sons, Stan of Blue Springs, Wes and his wife, Jenny, of Lee's Summit; one daughter, Carla Lightner and her husband, Barrye, of Tulsa, Okla.; parents, Bob and Velma Gordon, of Lindsborg, Kan.; one sister, Velda Hooper and her husband, Bill, of Atlanta, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Jerry Arnold conducted the services. Burial was at Painter Cemetery, Shell Knob.
