Loeta James, 85, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in St. John's Hospital, Berryville, Ark.

She was born May 1, 1922, in Bokoshe, Okla., the daughter of Robert and Rose (Hayes) Reeves. In March 1937, she was united in marriage to Edward A. Hill. She later married Robert McClure on Sept. 19, 1948, and in Aug. 1989, was married to Doyle "Buck" James, who survives. Additional survivors include: three sons, Vernon L. Hill, of Kingston, Tenn., Robert C. McClure, of U.S.A. and Darrell V. McClure, of Fairland, Okla.; three daughters, Patricia Abbott, of Kansas City, Hazel F. McClure, of Kansas City, and Rose L. Anderson, of Cassville; two stepdaughters, Dianna Bell, of Kissee Mills, and Tammie Donaldson, of Berryville, Ark.; 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter and one son.

She received her education in Oklahoma. In 1944, she moved to California and worked at several occupations including the defense factory for several years. From there she moved to Wichita, Kan., and continued to work at a defense factory. In 1985 Loeta moved to Missouri to make her home.

Funeral services were held Monday at Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Carroll Williamson conducted the services. Burial was at Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.
