A Monett man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 86 two miles west of Golden on Saturday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as Michael Kahler, 34, who was driving a 1998 Dodge Caravan, failed to negotiate a curve. Kahler's vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
Kahler was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Skip White. The body was taken to White Funeral Home in Cassville.
The Patrol report indicated that Kahler was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred at 9:10 p.m.
Other traffic crashes
Last Wednesday, an Exeter man sustained serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 37 three miles north of Cassville. The crash occurred when a 1992 Chevrolet Brazer, driven by Jeremy Smith, 20, drove off the right side of the road and overturned. Smith was taken by ambulance to Cox Monett Hospital. The Patrol reported indicated he was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred at 1 p.m.
A Cassville woman and an Arkansas man were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 37 one-half mile north of Cassville on Saturday. The crash occurred when a 2001 Nissan Xterra, driven by Paul Morris, 28, of Elkins, Ark., failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a 2005 GMC pickup, driven by Bradley Barritt, 37, of Bentonville, Ark. Barritt's vehicle struck Morris's vehicle broadside. Morris and his passenger, Jennifer Tindall, 25, of Cassville, were taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Although Barritt was not injured in the crash, his passengers, Stacy Barritt, 34, Cole Barritt, 6, and Allison Barritt, 4, all of Bentonville, Ark., sustained minor injuries and were taken to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. The crash occurred at 12:30 p.m.
?On Friday, a Wheaton teen sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash on Highway W one mile west of Butterfield. The crash occurred as a 1991 Mercury, driven by Derek Losch, 23, of Cassville, was attempting to make a left turn and pulled into the path of a 1994 Infiniti, driven by Anthony Simmons, 24, of Wheaton. Upon impact, Simmons' vehicle was forced into a 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup, driven by Gregory Swaffar, 23, of Cassville. Simmons' passenger, Tianna Simmons, 19, was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville. Simmons, Losch and Swaffar were not injured in the crash, which occurred at 4:01 p.m.
A Cassville man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 37 at Butterfield on Tuesday. The crash occurred when a 1995 Chevrolet, driven by Raymond Sanders, 48, ran off the roadway and overturned. Sanders was transported to Cox Monett Hospital. The crash occurred at 12:35 a.m.
