Freddie Ervin Banks, 74, of Jane, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. He was born March 14, 1933, in Washburn, one of 12 children born to the late Floyd "Jack" and Hattie Bernice (Hendrix) Banks. He married Mary Bell Poe on Oct. 31, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., and to this union three children were born. He was a member of the Bella Vista Church of Christ in Bella Vista, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia Akehurst; and two infant siblings.
Survivors include: his wife of 54 years, Mary Banks, of the home; three children, Ervin Banks and wife, Mary Ellen, of Neosho, Kathy Trammell, of Bentonville, Ark., Vicky Hobson, of Centerton, Ark.; a brother, Joe Banks, of Jane; seven sisters, Imogene Delmont, of Los Angeles, Calif., Leta Miller, of West Moreland, Tenn., Lavon O'Brien, of Burleson, Texas, Carolyn Wilmoth, of Cleveland, Texas, Glynda Lowe, of Jane, Trudy Hill, of LaPorte, Texas, Deborah Land, of Anderson; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren,
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 2 p.m. at the Bella Vista Church of Christ in Bella Vista, Ark. Ministers Randall Caselman and Jeff Lynn will officiate. Burial will follow at the Dent Cemetery in Washburn.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
