Gerry Hoover, 91, of Cassville, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2007, in Manor Care Center in Overland Park, Kan.
She was born October 15, 1916, in Thebes, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Mary (Worthington) Weiman. She was united in marriage on May 16, 1935, in Mound City, Ill., to Clyde C. Hoover. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 66 years on January 6, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Eugene Weiman and one sister, Mary Louise Weiman.
She is survived by her son Lynn C. Hoover and his wife, Marilynn, of Leawood, Kan.; two grandchildren Stephen C. Hoover and his wife, Sherri and Melissa J. Gibson and her husband, Gard; three great grandchildren, Lauren Skinner, Colburn Hoover and Joshua Gibson, all of Leawood, Kan.
She grew up and received her education in Illinois. She and Clyde moved to Cassville in 1943 where Clyde was a District Ranger of the U. S. Forest Service. In 1945, they established Forest Products which they owned and operated over 50 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cassville.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., today (Wednesday) in the First United Methodist Church, Cassville, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home. Rev. Lee Porch conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lions Club Eye Bank Foundation.pd.
