Community can be thankful for teachers
As Thanksgiving ap-proaches permit me to call to your attention certain school personnel for which your community can be thankful.
I work as a facilitator for an organization which trains educators to screen and tutor children who have difficulty in getting their eyes to work together. Approximately 40 percent of elementary students have this condition, which can cause major difficulties in learning to read.
This past Thursday it was my privilege to work with Ann Riggs, Joyce Cook, Tracy Hagan and Donna Michael under the supervision of Catherine Weaver, principal. In my 30 years as an educator, I have never seen a more dedicated and caring group of professionals. I know your community would like to thank these ladies for all they do.
