Senior Center is thankful for support

Dear Editor:

A gigantic THANK YOU to Cassville and surrounding communities for your support of the Cassville Senior Center. We started our annual fund raising with a walkathon/ rockathon around the square in Cassville. Next was our booth at the Chili and Salsa cook-off. Then we were the servers at "The Show" and what a great Show it was! It was culminated with a Celebrity Dinner at the Center on Nov. 9. What a fun time it was! A big thank you to all who participated. A special thanks to Janice Varner for enlisting the Celebrities.

In the process, we raffled off three items. A hand-quilted quilt made by ladies at the Senior Center was won by Felicia Roberts. An antique kitchen cabinet was won by Ina Tucker. A yearling heifer was won by Joy Elkins. During this time frame we also co-hosted a golf tournament with the Shell Knob Senior Center. Total proceeds, excluding the golf tournament, are $10,503.50.

The Center serves approximately 6,000 meals monthly, roughly three-fourths of them are delivered to home shut-ins, and the number is growing. Thank you, again, for your support!
