Betty Lou Collings, 69, of Exeter, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, in her home.
She was born March 19, 1938, in Washburn, the daughter of Dillon and Vurl (Fletcher) Ruark, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Lee Collings; two brothers, Vernon Ruark and Gary Ruark and two sisters, Wanda Rhinehart and Eva VanGrinsven.
Survivors include: two sons, Randy Collings, of Purdy, and Chris Collings, of Stella; one daughter, Robin Brattin and her husband, Mark, of Exeter; two brothers, Russell Ruark, of State of California, and Barry Ruark, of Joplin; four sisters, Wilma Collings, of State of Washington, Norma Carlin, Linda Proctor and Barbara Kenyon all of Neosho; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She received her education in Wheaton. After graduating from high school she attended Missouri Southern in Joplin and received her teaching degree. She taught school several years in the East Newton, Exeter and Washburn School District. She was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Ridgley Baptist Church, Ridgley, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. Gary Culp and Rev. John Henry conducted the services. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort.
