Wayne F. Snyder, age 80, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 22, 2007, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born November 7, 1926, in Bristow, Oklahoma, the son of John Franklin and Maude Ethal (Pippin) Snyder. On October 31, 1948, he was united in marriage to Irene Dilbeck, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Wayne Snyder, Jr. and his wife, Barbara and Jerry Snyder and his wife, Norma all of Washburn, Missouri; four daughters, Brenda Spurlin and her husband, Jack of Joplin, Missouri, Patty Day and her husband, Greg of Cassville, Missouri, Sherry Scott and her husband, Glen of Purdy, Missouri and Jan Harter and her husband, Terry of Republic, Missouri; one sister, Blanche Snyder of Louisville, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren, Sheira, Bobbie, Cody, Ashlea, Megan, Staci, Glen, Nathan, Matthew, Emily and Evan and three great grandchildren, Tyrannie, Taylor and Randi.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wayne received his education at Cassville and was a graduate of Cassville High School. During World War II he entered the United States Navy, serving from November 10, 1944 until July 18, 1946. After returning from the military he went into business with his dad and eventually became owner and operator of Cassville Machine and Supply, which he was still operating.
He was a member of American Legion Post #118 and a member of the N.R.A.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2007, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend Bob Neeley and Pastor Carroll Williamson will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
