Jack Hawkins, 82, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, in his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Kansas City, the son of Dustin and Marie (Miles) Hawkins. On April 24, 1948, in Kansas City, he was united in marriage to Virginia Helen Jansen, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Jerry Lee Hawkins, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Shirley Frances Luce and her husband, Michael, of Overland Park, Kan., and Donna Jean Meyers and her husband, Timothy, of Wichita, Kan.,; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; a brother and a daughter-in-law.

He received his education in Moulton, Iowa, then served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was an electrician and worked in Kansas City. Seven years ago he moved from Grandview to Shell Knob to make his home. He was a member of the VFW.

His body was cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in V.F.W. Post #2203, Shell Knob.
