Gordon Edward Wright, 81, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in St. John's Hospital -- Cassville.
He was born June 27, 1926, in Oakland, Calif., the son of Gordon Albert and Eleanor Mercedes (Kelly) Wright. On May 23, 1953, in Huntington Park, Calif., he was united in marriage to Joanne Raleigh, who survives.
He is also survived by: four sons, Michael Wright, of Buena Park, Calif., Gary Wright and his wife, Jeanette, of Phoenix, Ariz., Richard Wright, of Buena Park, Calif. and Andrew Wright and his wife, Debbie, of Yorba Linda, Calif.; four daughters, Janet Rizzuto and her husband, Len, of Winfield, Theresa Sittig and her husband, John, of Corona, Calif., Paula Sebourn and her husband, David, of Aurora, and Donna Sebourn and her husband, Gary, of Stotts City, 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank Wright.
He grew up in California and graduated from Huntington Park High School in Huntington Park, Calif. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a credit manager for Cal-Doran Corp in Los Angeles, Calif., and retired in 1991. He and Joanne moved to Cassville in March, 1996, to make their home. Gordon was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, Cassville. Memorial services were held Monday in St. Edwards Catholic Church, Cassville, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Father David Miller conducted the services. Burial with military honors were held Monday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
The Rosary was conducted at 4:45 p.m., Saturday in St. Edwards Catholic Church, Cassville.
