Ladycats finish second at meet

The Cassville Ladycat cross country squad had a strong showing at the Carl Junction Invitational on Oct. 4, finishing second as a team and beating Chanute, Kan., by one point.

Top finishers for the Ladycat runners were: Misty Long, 22:11, eighth; Tia Baker, 22:21, 10th; Ron'L Hoff, 22:38, 12th; Courtney Beagle, 23:39, 20th; and Gabby LeCompte, 26:06.

Ryan pace medaled in the varsity boys race. He completed the course in 18:25 for a 12th place finish.

"We are getting better and the kids seem to be healthy," said Coach Chris Shore. "I was proud of our overall performance."

In the middle school contest, Gage Holloway paced the CMS Wildcats, finishing the shortened course in 9:12 for third place. Mitchell Cooper also medaled, placing eighth with a time of 9:47.
