Kathryn Irene Lampe, 87, of Anacortes, Wash., passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007, at Island Hospital in Anacortes. She was born and raised in Rocky Comfort, Mo., along with three sisters and two brothers. Kathryn married George Aaron Love and moved to Bremerton, Wash., in 1941. They both worked in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for many years and Kathryn later worked for the Bremerton School District. Their only child Bill was born in 1942. George Aaron passed away in 1972. Kathryn married Bif Lampe and later moved to Monett, Mo. After Bif's passing, she moved to Anacortes to be near her family in 2006 and became a member of the Anacortes First Baptist Church. She worked hard, loved life, and lived each day to its fullest. Kathryn was a cancer survivor and courageously nursed two husbands through long illnesses. She was a woman of strong faith and enjoyed bowling, dancing, swimming, playing pinochle, and church activities. She was blessed with the gift of making friends and brightened many lives. She loved spending time with her family and special friend, J.T. Owens. Kathryn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Kathryn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Lorraine Love, of Anacortes; grandchildren, Debbie, Craig, and Sherry; great-grandchildren, Travis, Kylee, and Megan; brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Ida Brattin, of Joplin, Mo.; sister, Leona Lawson, of Monett, Mo.; sister-in-law, Thelma Roetta, of Monett, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews, including very close niece, Patty Duncan, of Cassville, Mo.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at the Monett First Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at the Monett First Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Stella, Mo.
