Etta Jo McNiel, 66, of Cassville, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital, Rogers, Ark., on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 10:48 a.m. and promptly entered the gates of heaven.
She was born Etta Josephine Huffman on March 12, 1941, in Oakley, Kan., the daughter of Alva and Rose (Meis) Huffman. On July 1, 1961, she was united in marriage to, the love of her life, Gilbert Lee McNiel, who survives.
Etta was a homemaker, who worked along side Lee on their dairy farms in Idaho and Missouri and traveled with him on construction for many years.
In addition to her husband, Lee, Etta Jo is survived by four loving children Veronica Kuschel and her husband, Ken, of Aurora, and their children, Marques, Kimberly, Emilee, Will and Jill, Boyd McNiel and his wife, Charlotte of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Bonnie Ash and her husband, John of Seligman, and their children, Tonya, Hope and Candice and Rex McNiel of Joplin; two brothers, Perry Huffman, of Oakley, Kan., and Tom Huffman, of Salina, Kan., and one sister, Bobby Kay Samsel, of Oakley, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Virgil and Frances Huffman and one sister, Shirley Glassman, all of Oakley, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Father David Miller will conduct the services. Burial will follow at the Calton Cemetery near Pleasant Ridge, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27 in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calton Cemetery Association near Pleasant Ridge, Missouri.
