Hazel J. Evans, 85, a lifelong resident of Seligman, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at the Barry County Care Center in Cassville.

She was born on Dec. 5, 1921, in Mundell, Ark., the daughter of Jessie and Alice Webb morrison. She married Clarence A. Evans on June 21, 1938, in La Rue, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1980. She was of the Baptist faith, a homemaker, and was also an election judge for many years in Seligman. Mrs. Evans also worked at the Roaring River Restaurant.

Survivors include: four sons, James L. Evans and his wife, Maryellen, of Teledo, Ore., Gary L. Evans and his wife, Sherry, of Herber Springs, Ark., Dennis L. Evans and his wife, Donna, of Seligman, and Paul Roger Evans, of Washburn; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Desiree Evans on May 11, 2001, and three brothers.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, at the Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield, Ark., with Pastor Marvin Ennis officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
